AHRI AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED
Congratulations to all the 2017 AHRI Award
winners and finalists who were celebrated at
the 21st AHRI Awards dinner in Melbourne
recently. They were selected from the many
submissions sent by HR practitioners and
organisations across Australia.
The AHRI Awards celebrate and
showcase the best ideas, programs
and individuals in the HR profession.
Community and business leaders, such as
Dave Ulrich, Elizabeth Broderick, Wayne
Cascio, Stan Grant, Peter Williams, Lynda
Gratton and Michael Kirby, form the
awards advisory panel that work closely
with AHRI to select the winners.
Winners of the 26 awards can be viewed
on the AHRI Awards website and will be
published in the February 2018 issue of

Experience Placement Program. AHRI supports
both organisations and candidates throughout the
placement. Applications close on 29 December.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
Zelda La Grange will be the guest
speaker at AHRI’s International Women’s
Day breakfasts from 6 to 9 March 2018.
Personal assistant and presidential aide to
the late Nelson Mandela for 19 years, La
Grange will share some of her most private
and public moments during her time at the
side of the international statesman, and
talk about how this has changed her life.
Draw inspiration from La Grange’s
personal story, while meeting other HR
professionals, business leaders and
champions of women’s equity at AHRI’s
IWD breakfasts in 2018:

AHRI BOARD DIRECTOR RESIGNS
Board director and chair of AHRI’s Inclusion and
Diversity Reference Panel, Rhonda Brighton-Hall,
stepped down from the AHRI board last month.
Formerly a senior executive with CommBank and a
2009 NSW Telstra Businesswoman of the Year, she
resigned from the board to give more time to her
business start-up and her family. Rhonda played a
leading role in the AHRI brand revitalisation project
during 2016. She will retain her role as the AHRI
inclusion and diversity panel chair.
