GET HR CERTIFIED TO
Are you a mid to senior HR professional with at least
five years' experience in an HR role? Or are you an
HR graduate with at least two years' recent HR work

Vale Harold Wallage
Harold Wallage (LifeFAHRI), aged 101, passed away
peacefully on 3 January 2018 in South Melbourne.
Harold was a founding member of the South
Australian chapter of what became the Institute of
Personnel Management Australia (IPMA) in the 1950s,
which in turn became the Australian HR Institute (AHRI)
in the 1990s.
His 40-year career in personnel management was
spent with auto manufacturer Chrysler Australia, having
held the position of personnel manager for many years.
Harold was a tireless worker and volunteer for the
institute, and in the early 1960s was bestowed the
honour of Life Fellow for his contribution to personnel
management in Australia.
Harold is survived by his loving wife Iris (married
77 years); daughter Jan and son David (LifeFAHRI
and founding editor of HRMonthly magazine);
granddaughters Kate and former AHRI state councillor
Clea; and five great-grandchildren.
